Architecture creates many possibilities for microclimates which can be utilized to support integrated greenhouses. Multi-level atriums provide opportunities to cleanse the air, recycle water, and support food producing plants. Utilizing closed-system agricultural greenhouses can solve numerous issues frequently associated with food production, water recycling, and waste treatment.
Treated water from the buildings can be used to irrigate food producing plants. Permaculture techniques, raised bed gardens and multi-tier agricultural greenhouses become successfully integrated into the very fabric of the building itself, providing a source for locally produced, healthy foods.
